Career Development/Graduate Services Assistance

Northwestern Technological Institute maintains a Graduate Services Department to develop and maintain a relationship with the business community and to assist students in obtaining entry-level positions within the Heating and Cooling industry.

The Graduate Services Department provides relevant industry-related materials and utilizes the most up to date job searching skills and resources available, in effort to assist its graduates with acquiring gainful employment.

The placement process begins with the gathering of student data used to best construct a marketable resume, cover letter, and reference page for students to begin the pursuit of achieving their individual career goals.

Prior to graduation, a Career Development course is conducted with all students to showcase and increase their overall marketability and social presentation.  Job interviewing skills and techniques, professionalism, effective communication, and general computer knowledge, including email setup are all key topics discussed within the class.

The Graduate Services Department facilitates the job search process by making available weekly packets of current, industry-related job openings within identified geographical areas for potential employment opportunities.   In addition, Northwestern Technological Institute provides its students and graduates with a Graduate Services Computer / Resource Lab.  Here, individuals are encouraged to create and maintain their resume, as well as search for open positions within the heating and cooling industry.

While every attempt will be made to introduce the most qualified candidate to the appropriate employer, the ultimate responsibility of finding employment rests upon the Northwestern Tech graduate.  Northwestern Technological Institute cannot promise or guarantee employment to any graduate at any time.
